Week of October 21, 2024

Please Note

- We have our monthly mass on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. All are welcome to join us!  Please remember no dress downs on mass days.

- We will not have a reading assessment this week, but please study the words because we will have the test next week.

-This week we will have our Saints Celebration!  Here are some reminders:

  •  The presentation will be at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and will last about 45 minutes.  We ask that all family members sit on the side pews (left and right of the altar).

  • The children will tell you whether they are closer to the ‘Joseph of Mary’ side of the church.

  • The kids are to come to school dressed in their costumes over their gym uniforms. Sneakers are fine.

  • Please make sure any robes are not too long as we will be walking to and from the church. Also, bobby pins do not keep veils on so if you can attach them to a headband or use clips that would be great.

  • FYI…once our presentation ends, Msgr will say a few words, then the children will process around the church following an SKS musician playing "When the Saints Go Marching In"

  • After processing, the children will reassemble on the altar, and Mrs. Mulvanerty will dismiss the school congregation.  1st Grade will remain and you will be invited for group photos. Please do not take them for individual photos until we dismiss them from the altar.  At that point, you are welcome to have a few minutes for individual photos and then we will call them to line to return to the classroom.  If you would like to take their costumes you are welcome to.  If not, please send them to school with a bag for their costume.

- The seventh grade is working on their annual service project. They will work with Case for Smiles and sew soft, colorful pillowcases for kids coping with cancer, and assemble gift boxes for their siblings. See below for information from seventh grade.

  • Raffle Baskets -   It is that time of year for our AMAZING raffle baskets.  Information and order forms go home this Monday, October 21. Learn more by watching this week’s Wildcat. Ticket orders are due Friday, October 25. We draw the winners Monday, October 28.

  • Wednesday, October 23 - Dress Down Day, $1 donation please

Week of October 14, 2024

First Grade prays for their special intentions
during 40 Hours of Devotion.

Please Note

-Thank you for your help with the saint reports.  They were completed wonderfully, and we are looking forward to learning about their saint.  We will be getting ready for our Saints Celebration this week and next.

- First Graders are invited to present themselves as their saint at the All Saints Day Mass on November 1st followed by the Holy Pizza Party.  See link for more information. 1st Grade Saints - All Saints' Day

- You will find all of your child's app logins on the inside cover of their Homework Copybook by Tuesday. We have used all the apps in school, with the exception of XTraMath, so they should be familiar if you want to use them at home. I highly suggest using Xtramath a few nights each week to reinforce math facts.

- There will be a math test on addition this Tuesday. A review sheet will be sent home for homework tonight.

- We will have a reading and spelling test on Friday.

- Picture day is Tuesday.  Please send in the order form by Tuesday.

- Our field trip to Riverbend is this Thursday.  The children should wear their winter gym uniform with sneakers.  Last year, some of their sneakers did get wet, so we are suggesting an older pair.  Rain boots are not really conducive to the hiking part of the trip. They will also need a snack and lunch.  We suggest using their regular lunch box and water bottle, but please be sure they have their names on them. We are looking forward to a fun day!
