Sunday, January 31st:  Opening Mass for Catholic Schools Week at 9:30.  All are welcome to join us.  Students are encouraged to wear their school uniforms.  There is a gathering in the parish center afterwards.

Monday: Community Service Day (Regular Uniform)


Tuesday: Crazy 8's Day and Spelling Bee 9:00 -10:00  (Gym uniform for gym day with 8 crazy add-ons)

Wednesday: Health Fair (Gym Uniform)

Thursday: Blue and White Dress Down Day  ($1.00 towards Health Fair)  and Minute to Win It

Friday: Mass and Noon Dismissal  (Regular Uniform)

Grandparents/Special Friend Day, part of our book fair, will be on Tuesday, February 9th.  Kindergarten and First Grade are welcome to invite their grandparents or a special friend to visit the book fair and complete a small craft with them.  The time for our class is 8:30 - 9:30.

Next week, we will begin having Spelling tests on our long vowel sounds.  The children will write a list of 12 Spelling Words in their Reading Copybook on Monday and their test will be on Friday.  We will practice these words in school, but PLEASE BE SURE TO PRACTICE/QUIZ THE WORDS NIGHTLY.

$1.00 Dress Down day on Wednesday for the Make A Wish Foundation

There will be a MLK service project that will be held in the cafeteria on Monday, January 18th from 10 - 12.  They will be assembling toiletry bags and bag lunches for those in need at the Youth Emergency Shelter (which houses teens ages 12-17 in the Fairmount section of Phila) and through the Stuffed Shirt Project which supports other local shelters.  First grade is collecting deodorant (full or travel size) for this project.

First grade is also collecting pasta sauce and penne pasta for Mercy Hospice. If you can, please send in a jar of sauce or a box of penne pasta by January 18th. Thanks for your help :)
