Week of May 29, 2018


Please Note

- Just a reminder that the last day for the lunch program is Thursday. Please make sure to pack your child a lunch for this Friday and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Pretzels will still be sold for morning snack.

- Study guides for the math and religion exam, along with the exam schedule were sent home last week.  The study guides that were sent home are to be worked on and stay at home. We will complete a separate set in school this week. If you have any questions about them please let me know.

- Doughnuts with Dudes will be next Tuesday, June 5th at 8:30am on the playground (cafeteria if the weather does not cooperate)! More information will be sent home this week.

- There will be a Dress Down Day on Friday. Please send in $1.00 to dress down. Thanks!

Week of May 21st

Please Note

- Wednesday is our annual May Procession. Students are to wear their winter uniforms. The kids need to be in our classroom no later than 6:40 pm and can be picked up by the front doors of the school. In the event of rain, we will meet and be dismissed from the Church. Please let me know if you have any questions.

- An exam schedule will be sent home this week along with study guides. We will be reviewing them in school but they should also be reviewed at home.

- No school on Friday, 5/25 or Monday, 5/28. Hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend!

- Reminder that Doughnuts with Dudes will be Tuesday, June 5th at 8:30 am in the cafeteria. Each child is asked to invite a special "dude" (dad, uncle, grandfather etc.) to join us for coffee and doughnuts that morning.  More information will sent home in the coming weeks.

Week of May 14th

Check out our plants!  We were even able to transplant the bean seed we were growing in soil to our Tower Garden.


Please Note

-We will finish up our final reading story of the year this week and then begin to
study and review for exams.  Our Reading Exam will be a review of all long and
short vowel sounds. Information about all of the exams will be sent home next week.

- Test folders will be sent home Thursday. Please sign and return on Friday.

- There will be a reading and a spelling test on Friday.

- A reminder that May Procession is next Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Students need to
wear their winter uniforms. More information will be on the blog next week about
meeting time and pick up.

- Doughnuts with Dads/Dudes will be on June 5 at 8:30 am in the cafeteria.

We will begin Chapter 18 "We Are Followers of Jesus" this week.

Math
We will begin our unit on shapes this week.  We will identify 2-D and 3-D shapes
and their attributes (sides, vertices (corners), faces (flat surfaces) and edges.)  We

will also review addition and subtraction facts.

Week of May 7, 2018

We have steady growth with our basil, kale, lettuce and marigolds and will transfer them to our Tower this week.

Our cilantro and rosemary are taking their time.

Our red lettuce, tomato, and cucumber plants already in the Tower are thriving.




Please Note


- If you would like to order the summer reading book through school, orders are due
tomorrow.


- Please join us to celebrate the Ascension of our Lord on Thursday at 9:00 am for our
First Grade Mass.


- Chapter 17 Religion test on Friday. A study guide will be sent home on Tuesday.
