Week of April 30, 2018




We have sprouts from our seeds and our established plants are growing well!


Please Note

- A book order form regarding summer reading will be sent home today. The entire school
will be reading a version of the same book this summer. If you would like to order the book
through school, please send the form with cash or check by Tuesday, May 8th. Thanks!


- There will be a math quiz on Thursday and a reading and spelling test on Friday this week.


- Mark your calendar for these May dates:
                May 10th - First grade Mass @ 9:00 am
                 **rescheduled from 5/15. We now have school on 5/10**
                May 23rd - May Procession @ 7:00 pm
                June 5th - Doughnuts with Dads/Dudes @ 8:30 am

- This week we will be busy celebrating Earth Day and starting up the First Grade
Indoor Garden.

- Test folders will be sent home Thursday. Please sign and return on Friday.

- Religion test on Chapter 16 on Friday.  A study guide will be sent home Wednesday.

Please Note


- Thanks for supporting our garden fundraiser last week! We raised enough money to get
our indoor garden started! Stay tuned for more details!


- Wednesday is a dress down day for Speak Up. Please send in $1.00 on Wednesday so
we can turn the donations in to the office.  Our class will dress down on Friday due to Gym
and Go Run.


- We will have a math test (identifying and counting coins up to a dollar) on Thursday.


- There will be a reading and spelling test on Friday this week.

worth.  We will count groups of mixed coins.  We will have a test on Thursday.


Please have your child gather coins in a bag or change purse to practice using real
coins at home.  They should be able to count mixed coins up to one dollar. Please
have them practice sorting coins in order from greatest amount to least (Q, D, N, P)
and then count how much money.  We will practice the same way with pretend coins
in school.

We are very excited to begin planning for our First Grade Indoor Garden.  We will
be selling popsicles for $1.00 this week to help raise the funds needed to begin.

Don't forget to check out the SKS Shoppes on Thursday night and Friday during
the day!

We will have mass this Friday at 9:00.  All are welcome! No Dress Downs, please.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FIRST GRADE SCHOOL MASS HAS BEEN MOVED TO
MAY 10TH SINCE SCHOOL WILL NOW BE IN SESSION THAT DAY.
