Please Note

There will be a spelling test on number words this Friday (zero-twelve). Please continue to study at home.

There will be a Religion Chapter 1 test on Wednesday this week. A study guide will be sent home.

Directions for the Religion homework will be sent home today. Please read them and help your child complete it neatly on the paper provided. Please have your child put their first and last name and the date (9/30/16) on the first line of the theme paper. Thanks for you help!

Fox 29 will be here on Tuesday to help us celebrate our Centennial! It should air between 9-10 am!

Chapter 2 - "We Believe in the Blessed Trinity"
We will have our test on Chapter 1 and begin Chapter 2. In this chapter we will learn all about the Blessed Trinity and prayer.

This week we will be tested on writing number words (zero-twelve.) We will also work on one more, one less, ordering numbers from least to greatest and greatest to least, and learning how to count on and count back from a specific number.

Week of September 19th

Please Note

We will have our first school Mass on Thursday at 9:00am. All are welcome!

We will have our first reading test on the story "Jack and the Wolf" this Friday. We will take this together as a practice test so we can get used to the types of questions that will be asked on future tests. This will count as a grade.  This will include reading the sight words so please be sure you are reviewing them each night.

Our first Spelling test will be on Friday, September 30 and it will be on number words. (zero-twelve)

We will be learning about the story of creation and how we were all made in the image and likeness of God. We will also learn about how God made each of us different!

Week of September 12th

Welcome to 1st Grade, Room 3!

Week of September 12th

The children will bring their journals home to be decorated this week.  Please assist them in finding photos, magazine cut outs, stickers, or other embellishments to decorate the front and back covers.  The theme is 'All About Me.'  Please cover their finished journal with clear contact paper and return the journal to school by Monday, September 19th.

There will be an "All About Me' t-shirt activity in their homework folders as well.  This is also due on Monday, September 19th.

Homework will begin on September 26th.  Meanwhile, the children will have vocabulary and short a spelling words in their reading copybooks, and word cards, to practice.  They will also have their readers to practice reading our first story, Jack and the Wolf.

Friday is a Dress Down Day.  Your child may dress in play clothes and bring $1.00 for 'Johnny's Run/Respect Life'.
