Week of February 26, 2024

Please Note

- If you did not send in coins with your child, please do so by Wednesday. 4 quarters, 10 dimes, 20 nickels and 25 pennies in a ziplock bag labeled with their name.

- There will be a math test on Tuesday this week on addition and subtraction to 20. We will review in school and a review will be sent home for homework tonight.

- Test folders will be sent home on Thursday. Please sign and return on Friday!

- There will be a Reading and Spelling test on Friday.

-Leprechaun trap information will be sent home today. Google has some great examples of traps. Students are asked to bring the traps in on Friday, 3/15. Please do not send them in beforehand because we have limited space in the classroom. If you have any questions please let me know. Happy building!

Please Note

-I hope you all had a great holiday weekend! Can you believe we will celebrate our 100th day of school this week?! This year is just flying by.

- We will have a spelling and reading test this Friday on Unit 5, Week 2.

-There will be yearbook club photos taken on Wednesday, so no dress-downs, please.

- We will be starting our unit on money next week. Please send in a ziplock bag labeled with your child's name with 4 quarters, 10 dimes, 20 nickels, and 25 pennies by next Tuesday.  The coins will be sent home when we are finished with them. Thank you!

- Information about the first-grade tradition of building leprechaun traps will be sent home this week. Please be on the lookout for more information!

We will finish up our unit working with sums and differences to 20 and fact families. We will also practice doing double-digit addition and subtraction without regrouping. There will be test early next week.

Week of February 12, 2024

First Grade spent some prayerful time with Jesus for Adoration.
Please Note

-We will start Unit 5 in reading this week. Due to the short week, Ash Wednesday and Valentine's Day we will not test in reading this week. We will be starting long vowels with the spelling words, so please be sure to still study the words each night so your child is practicing the new spelling pattern.

- Dress down day on Tuesday! Please bring in $1.00 to dress down.

- Please send in valentines by tomorrow so we have them ready to go for Thursday!

- We are still collecting canned goods if you would like to donate.

- Test folders will be sent home on Wednesday. Please sign and return on Thursday.

- We will celebrate Ash Wednesday with mass at 9:00am. All are welcome to join!

- No school on Friday or Monday. Enjoy the long holiday weekend!

Please Note

We had a great time during Catholic School Week! Thank you for all of your donations! You can check out some pictures below from the week. Here are the reminders for this week:

- There will be a math test on skip counting and even and odd numbers on Thursday.

- We will have a spelling and reading test on Friday. These spelling words are tougher so please be sure to review them at home.

- Looking ahead, there is no school on Friday, February 16th and Monday, February 19th.

 - Please have all valentines sent to school by Tuesday, February 13th.  Candy (no tree nuts or peanuts) or small gifts are okay! We will have our party on Thursday, February 15th due to Ash Wednesday falling on Valentine's Day.  Class List 2023-2024
