Week of December 16, 2024

Please Note

- I hope you enjoyed the Christmas Concert last week. The kids looked and sounded wonderful. We hope it put you in the Christmas spirit!

- There is no homework this week, but please have them continue to read each night.

- On Tuesday morning we will go to Santa's Secret Shop. Please mark the envelope with who your child is shopping for and how much to spend on each person. It is really helpful to the volunteers. Envelopes we sent home last week so please send them back in for Wednesday. Thanks!

- Our Buddy Bowling Trip will be on Thursday.  The children will wear their gym uniforms.  We will have pretzels for morning snack and a pizza lunch so there is no need to pack anything unless they will not eat those things.  We will make cards for our buddies in school.  No gifts or treats are to be exchanged.  Thank you!

-If you volunteered to chaperone for bowling, you are welcome!  We will meet at Devon Lanes around 9:45/10:00.  We will leave around 11:30.

- Friday will be a free Dress Down Day - pajamas or festive outfits are welcome . Thank you!

Week of December 9, 2024

 Please Note

- I hope you all had a nice weekend! We have another busy week here as we begin the second trimester and continue to prepare for Christmas.

-We will complete our Letter to Santa for homework on Monday night so we have time to mail them off to the North Pole.  We usually receive a response from Santa’s elves during lunch with our buddies after bowling. ;-)

- Wednesday night will be the K-4 Christmas Concert. The kids should wear their Sunday/Christmas best. Please no jeans. Please have your child arrive at church by 6:15pm. They can go right to their pew where we have been practicing. After the performance, you can pick them up from their pew. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. FYI...It was mentioned that parking in the Rite Aid lot is no longer an option.

- Our Buddy Bowling Trip is scheduled for Thursday, December 19th.  Please complete the permission form sent from the office via Option C.  Remember the students will be provided with lunch so there is no need to order. Last call for chaperones for the trip.

-Report cards will be sent home on Friday. Please remember that these grades reflect your child's schoolwork and test scores. You may keep the actual report card at home. Please just sign and return the envelope. If you have any questions, please let me know.

-We will have a math test on Tuesday on place value. A review will be sent home for homework.

Week of October 21, 2024

Please Note

- We have our monthly mass on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. All are welcome to join us!  Please remember no dress downs on mass days.

- We will not have a reading assessment this week, but please study the words because we will have the test next week.

-This week we will have our Saints Celebration!  Here are some reminders:

  •  The presentation will be at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and will last about 45 minutes.  We ask that all family members sit on the side pews (left and right of the altar).

  • The children will tell you whether they are closer to the ‘Joseph of Mary’ side of the church.

  • The kids are to come to school dressed in their costumes over their gym uniforms. Sneakers are fine.

  • Please make sure any robes are not too long as we will be walking to and from the church. Also, bobby pins do not keep veils on so if you can attach them to a headband or use clips that would be great.

  • FYI…once our presentation ends, Msgr will say a few words, then the children will process around the church following an SKS musician playing "When the Saints Go Marching In"

  • After processing, the children will reassemble on the altar, and Mrs. Mulvanerty will dismiss the school congregation.  1st Grade will remain and you will be invited for group photos. Please do not take them for individual photos until we dismiss them from the altar.  At that point, you are welcome to have a few minutes for individual photos and then we will call them to line to return to the classroom.  If you would like to take their costumes you are welcome to.  If not, please send them to school with a bag for their costume.

- The seventh grade is working on their annual service project. They will work with Case for Smiles and sew soft, colorful pillowcases for kids coping with cancer, and assemble gift boxes for their siblings. See below for information from seventh grade.

  • Raffle Baskets -   It is that time of year for our AMAZING raffle baskets.  Information and order forms go home this Monday, October 21. Learn more by watching this week’s Wildcat. Ticket orders are due Friday, October 25. We draw the winners Monday, October 28.

  • Wednesday, October 23 - Dress Down Day, $1 donation please
