Week of October 3rd


Please Note



  • Our School  Mass is this Tuesday at 9:00 am. All are welcome!
  • Tests will be sent home on Tuesday. Please be sure to review, sign and return on Wednesday.
  • The Cradle to Crayons pod will be here all week. If you would like to donate any gently used clothing, shoes, books, baby items or school supplies please send them to school in a bag or drop them off outside of the cafeteria.
  • The Respect Life Club is collecting baby pictures of students to put on a bulletin board to celebrate Respect Life Month. If you would like to send in a picture of your child please put it in an envelope marked with their name. The picture will be returned.
  • There will be both a math and reading test this Friday.
  • Winter uniforms will start on Monday, October 10th.
  • School pictures will be on Thursday, October 13th.
  • The Book Fair and Grandparents/Special Friends Day will be on Wednesday, October 19th.  Our class is scheduled to attend from 10:30-11:30 am. Grandparents are welcome to come in and shop and to make a small craft with their grandchild. If grandparents can't make it, a "special friend" like an aunt, uncle etc. will do! A flyer will be sent home this week.

Our Week

Religion
Chapter 2 - "We Believe in the Blessed Trinity"
We will continue with Chapter 2 this week. In this chapter we will learn all about the Blessed Trinity and prayer.

Reading
Story: "How Animals Communicate"
Target Skill: Main Idea and Details
Phonics Skill: Short I sound and R blends
Grammar: Nouns
Sight Words: animal, how, make, of, some, why, help, for, have, you

Math
This week we will finish up with first unit learning how to compare numbers using the <, >, = signs. We will also practice with ordinal numbers. A test will be given on Friday. Students will be asked to order numbers, write numbers that come before, after and between, and also compare numbers using the correct signs.
