Week of January 11, 2021 *Updated 1/13 2:48

Please Note

-Thanks for a great virtual week! The kids were great, but I am happy to be back in school! We will continue to work on being self starters and gaining independence during this second half of the year! Here are the reminders for this week:

- Homework will start this week! It would be great to set a up a homework routine with your child this week. The kids should be able to open their homework copybook and find the pages in each workbook. They should also try to read the directions on the pages or worksheets independently and start their work. I know this might take a little more time in the beginning and maybe even cause some frustration, but it is a great way to build independence. Of course, if your child needs help, please help them, but know that the more they try to do by themselves the better off they will be. They should also be responsible for putting their books back in their schoolbag!

- The sight words and spelling words will also increase from 8 to 10 this week! They have been doing an excellent job with these.

- There will be a Religion test on Chapter 8 on Wednesday.

- Wednesday is a Dress Down Day for the Remar family. Please send in $1.00 to dress down and continue to keep the Remar's in your prayers.

- There is no school on Friday. A few asynchronous activities will be assigned to complete.

- There is no school on Monday, January 18th for MLK Day.

- Our class will be collecting SHAMPOO( Due January 25th if participating) for the MLK Day Bags of Service.  If you would also like to make a "bag a service," they can be picked up at school on MLK Day between 10am and 12:00pm.  The flyer was attached to the weekly Option C email.

Week of December 7th, 2020

 Please Note

- There will be a spelling and reading test on Friday.

- Report cards will be given out next week.

- Please be sure that your child is reviewing sight words and is reading, especially during the days off and over break. They can lose these important skills just as fast as they learn them! This should be their "homework" along with math facts every night. Kids A-Z and IXL are both great for practice at home. Please use them!

- I am sending home a packet of "Sight Word Phrases" with each child to practice at home. This will help with sight word recognition and fluency! Work on one page at a time. Once your child can read the phrase without pausing or having to sound out words, check it off! Once they can read all the phrases on the first page with pausing/sounding out, move on to the next page.

- We will be starting homework when we return from Christmas Break.
