Week of October 9, 2023

Please Note

-Thank you for your help with the saint reports.  They were completed wonderfully, and we are looking forward to learning about their saint.

- School pictures will be next Thursday, October 19. Please send in your forms or complete them online. 

- We will have our Unit 1 reading test on Friday along with a spelling and sight word test.

- If you haven't signed the permission form or paid for the field trip on Thursday, October 26th please do so this week. The permission form can be found HERE.

-Thank you to all who volunteered to chaperone our field trip.  Our chaperones will be Mrs. McFadden, Mrs. Botzler, Mrs. Kloeblen, and Mr. Griffin.

- Monday, October 16 will be a dress-down day! Please send in $1.00 to dress down.

A Peek at Our Week

Religion

We will begin Chapter 3 "Jesus Grew Up in a Family". We will learn about the birth of Jesus and the Holy Family. We will start practicing for our Saint Presentation!

Reading

Story: Plants and Animals Grow and Change

Target Skill: Asking Questions, Main Topic and Details, Sequence of Events

Phonics Skill: Short o 

Grammar: nouns and verb tenses

Sight Words: have, jump, no, one, for

Spelling Words: mop, top, hop, not, hot, lock, rock, sock

Math

We will finish up our addition unit this week. We will focus on adding 3 addends and finding doubles and sums of ten to help up. We will also work with simple word problems. There will be a test next Tuesday on adding on a number line, adding 3 addends, and word problems.
