Monday, 5/4

Reading
1. Review Sight Words and Spelling Words.
2. Reread Little Rabbit's Tale.  (Reader pages 156-179)
3. Complete 'Vocabulary' and 'Comprehension' worksheets (page 1, 2, 3 and 4 in reading packet.)

Math
1. Watch this video on measuring with centimeters.
2.  Complete 'Spring Measurements' and 'Drawing Lines with Centimeters' worksheets (pages 1 and 2 in math packet.)
3.  Complete Fat Math Book pages 435 and 436.

Religion
Chapter 19 - We Celebrate God's Forgiveness
Jesus told us about God's forgiveness.  God is always ready to forgive us.
1. Read pages 219-221 and learn about the story of the Prodigal Son
2.  Complete activity on page 221.  Use the numbers 1, 2, and 3 to complete the Sequence of Events to retell the story.
3.  You can watch the Beginner's Bible video of the Prodigal Son  HERE if you have time.

Reading
1.  Watch this cause and effect video activity.  We will read If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and complete 'Cause and Effect' worksheet together via video (page 5 in reading packet)
2. Review Sight Words and Spelling Words
3.  Complete 'Spin and Write' worksheet (page 6 in reading packet.)
Place a paperclip on word wheel at top right of page.  Hold your pencil point down in the circle in the middle of the wheel and use the paperclip to 'spin'.  Write the word you land on under the correct box.  Continue until all boxes are filled in.

Math
Complete 'Measure It' worksheets (pages 3 and 4 in packet.)
  • Use centimeters to measure items inside (page 3) and outside (page 4) of your house.
  • Remember, centimeters are best used for measuring smaller items. Maybe you can measure some of the things you measured with inches and compare!
  • Remember to line your ruler up starting at ZERO, not the edge, and measure from the beginning of your object to the end. You can decide whether you want to measure how long or how tall your object is.
  • Remember to estimate means to GUESS...so be sure to guess BEFORE you measure! Then think about how your estimate compares to the actual measurement.

Religion
We celebrate God's forgiveness.
1.  Read and discuss pages 222-225
      - God gave us laws/rules to follow
      - When we choose not to follow them we don't share Jesus' light and aren't peacemakers
      - Jesus taught us to ask for forgiveness
      - The sacrament of Reconciliation or Penance lets us ask God for forgiveness
      - Read and discuss the steps of the sacrament of Reconciliation.

   * You will receive this sacrament next year!

10:00 Zoom to celebrate Peter's birthday.  His real birthday is June 6th and his address is 320 S Waterloo Road Devon PA, 19333 if you would like to mail him a card.


Reading
1. Review Sight Words and Spelling Words
2. Watch this video which shows that the vowel pair ea is usually makes the long e sound BUT sometimes it can also make the short e sound.
3.  Complete Reading Workbook page 68 for practice with ea words.
4.  Complete Reading Workbook pages 66 and 72 for more practice with prepositional phrases.


Math
1. Complete Measurement test.

Religion
Jesus asks us to forgive others.
1.  Read and discuss pages 226 and 227
      - How do you show forgiveness to others? 
      - Do you think asking someone for forgiveness is easy?
      - Do you think forgiving someone is easy?
      - God will ALWAYS forgive us no matter what is you are truly sorry
2.  Complete the puzzle activity (printed out with weekly packets.)
- Cut out the pieces, glue them together on a piece of paper (yellow construction paper provided if you picked up) and color it in.
3.  Watch this short video about how God is always ready to forgive us and this video about choosing forgiveness over anger.

Sign up here for Zoom Mother's Day Project.  Make sure to have your yellow envelope ready.  No other supplies needed!


Reading
1. Reread Little Rabbit's Tale.  (Reader pages 156-179) and take your test. I only read the questions on the first page (not the answer options). They complete the rest themselves. Help them if they have any questions with directions.
2. Review spelling words and give them the spelling test.

Math
1. Complete addition/subtraction worksheet along with word problems.  (pages 5 and 6 of math packet.)  Some may need/want quick breaks between sections. 
2.  Make sure you are remembering to use your flashcards or math apps to
practice your addition and subtraction facts for speed and accuracy!


Religion
1. Review Chapter 19.  Complete pages 228, 229, and 230.
2. Here is a Veggie Tale's video about forgiving others if you have time.
