Tuesday, 3/17

Reading
1. Review Sight Words and Spelling Words
2. Copy Long e words into Reading Copybook. (1st Page of Packet)
3. Read "The Big Trip." Complete 'Write About Reading Page - 2nd page in packet.
Remember, persuade means to convince somebody to like or do something. Inform means to give facts and information and is usually a nonfiction story. Entertain means the author writes a story that the reader will enjoy!
4. Reading - Page 28

Math
1. Complete "Time to the Hour" worksheet. Help your child see and understand that the hour is the only number that changes in this pattern. The minutes will always be 00.
Use this clock to help you!

Religion
1. Chapter 15 "We Belong to a Parish"  read pages 172-173. Discuss what a parish is and complete activity at the bottom of page 173.

Wednesday, 3/18

Reading
1. Review Sight Words and Spelling Words
2. Read "The Big Trip." Take notice of the quotation marks and why they are used.
3. Complete the "Compare/Contrast" Activity (Page 3 in Packet.) Remember comparing and contrasting tell how things are alike and different.
Write one complete sentence telling how they are the same and one complete sentence telling how they are different.
4. Complete "Quotation Mark" Activity (Pages 4 and 5 in Packet) by putting the sentence in the right order and the quotation marks and punctuation marks in the correct places. **Find the sentence in the story to help you!
5. Reading workbook page 25

Math
1. Complete "Time to the 1/2 Hour" worksheet. Help your child see and understand that the hour and minutes change in this pattern. Help them see that the minutes will always follow the pattern 00, 30, 00, 30 etc. and after each 30 when you change the minutes back to 00 you must change the hour too.
Use this clock to help you! If you child is struggling this clock will definitely be helpful for them!
2. Skinny workbook page 114

Religion
1. Chapter 15 "We Belong to a Parish" read pages 174-175. Review what a parish is from yesterday and talk about how we can worship God as a parish.

Thursday, 3/19

Reading
1. Review Sight Words and Spelling Words
2. Complete "Compound Sentences" Activity. Watch this  video  to review what compound sentences are. Remember that independent clauses are the same as simple sentences! Compound sentences are when we put two simple sentences together using the conjunctions and, but, & or.
Complete worksheet. Use the write conjunction to join the sentences together.
3. Reading workbook page 20

Math
1. Complete the Espark Math Assignment on Time.
Have your child login, then they click on the green math assignment button. This is estimated to be a 60 minute lesson, so they may do half of it today and complete the other half tomorrow for math work.

This might be a bit of a challenge since it is telling time to the increments of 5 minutes, but we thought it would be a good challenge for them! Please do not stress if they struggle.

If you feel it is too hard they can complete Big Math Book pages 377-378.

Religion
1. Chapter 15 "We Belong to a Parish"  read pages 176-177.  Review what a parish is and how we worship as a parish. Discuss who a pastor is and what his job is. Who is our Pastor at SKS? How does he help us?

Friday, 3/20

Reading
1. Read "The Big Trip" and take your test. I only read the questions on the first page (not the answer options). They complete the rest themselves. Help them if they have any questions.
2. Review spelling words and give them the spelling test.


Math
1. Complete the second half of the  Espark Math Assignment on Time.
This might be a bit of a challenge since it is telling time to the increments of 5 minutes, but we thought it would be a good challenge for them! Please do not stress if they struggle.

If you feel it is too hard they can complete Big Math Book pages 379-380.

Religion
1. Chapter 15 "We Belong to a Parish"  read pages 178-179.  Review what a parish is and how we worship as a parish and what a pastor does. Talk about the things we do in our SKS parish to help one another.
Complete Project Disciple pages 180-181
Take test on page 182 (you can use the book to help)
